OWAY has come to SA! They believe in ‘Green Chemistry’ when it comes to hair and body products. Their products are all natural, free from artificial colourants, contain pure active ingredients and include medicinal plant extracts. OWAY has an extensive range of products for both males & females and first launched Oway agricosmetics in 2013.

OWAY believes in using fair trade networks to source and harvest their ingredients, supporting over 800 communities and making strict ethical purchases across the globe.

OWAY believes that ‘less is more’. Their products come with no exterior packaging, only biodegradable paper and 100% naturally made glass and aluminum bottles. These elements make the brand a future leader in holistic wellness. Now we can pamper ourselves and feel good about the environment too! I was lucky enough to receive three of their products to try:

  • The Frequent Use hair & Scalp Bath & The Frequent Use Conditioner – Both containing Biodynamic lemon, organic white tea and ethically produced anisate (an evergreen shrub or small tree with strongly-scented leaves and sweet-smelling flowers).
  • Materia –Cleansing Face & Body Bar – Purifying solid oil with antioxidant properties, extra virgin olive oil, organic poppy and ethical babassu oil (a clear light yellow vegetable oil extracted from the seeds of the babassu palm).

Now although some of these ingredients and herbs may seem foreign to you (and me), they smell amazing and it’s really the quality of these natural ingredients that make these products stand out from the rest.

OWAY has huge respect for the environment and for promoting waste reduction. All formulations, packaging and materials are designed to have a minimal environmental impact and to be reusable, composted or transformed into a new resource.

OWAY products will be available to purchase in South Africa in May 2019. Keep your eyes peeled for pricing and stockist info!
